About Ojika Island
Ojika is a small island in the northern part of the Goto archipelago, in Nagasaki Prefecture. Around 2,000 people live here. It’s a quiet island of clear water and harbours, volcanic landforms, and an old port town. Regular ferries and fast boats connect it with Sasebo and Hakata.
Shimayado Goen runs an inn on Ojika and also carries out a cat-rescue project, “Nyan-Nyan no Sato.” The three live streams are set up and broadcast by Shimayado Goen.
From the screen to the island
If watching the streams makes you want to come, Ojika is reached by boat. It’s about an 8-minute walk from the port to Shimayado Goen, with free pick-up for staying guests.

Where is Ojika Island?
It’s in the northern Goto archipelago, off Nagasaki in western Japan. You reach it by regular boat from Sasebo or Hakata.
Can I watch the streams 24 hours a day?
They run around the clock as a rule. Weather, the internet connection, and equipment maintenance can cause the picture to pause or a stream to drop for a while.
What if the picture is frozen?
Streams can stop depending on the connection or the equipment. Try again after a while, or check the latest stream from the Goen channel. At night, or when the cats are in another room, there may be no cat on screen.
Can I visit Ojika? Can I stay there?
