Nyan-Nyan no Sato
The calm, ordinary days of rescued cats on Ojika Island.
About
About Nyan-Nyan no Sato
A place where cats rescued on Ojika Island can live in safety.
Nyan-Nyan no Sato is run by a Japanese general incorporated association and works together with Goen Co., Ltd. and the inn Shimayado Goen to care for around twenty rescued cats every day. Rather than stopping at “how sad,” we want to build a place where the cats can settle, feel calm, and have another chance at a happy life — one step at a time, with what an island can do.
Their days
A day in the cats' lives
Eat, sleep, play, spend time with people — an ordinary day the cats can count on, in safety.
In the garden, open to sunlight and sea breeze, the cats stretch out and take their time.

Our work
What we do
On a small island, we keep doing what we can, one thing at a time.
- Daily meals
We prepare food and water, watching how each cat is doing.
- Cleaning
Keeping litter trays and rooms clean so the cats are comfortable.
- Health care
Watching closely every day so we notice any change in a cat's condition.
- Building a place they can trust
Making a space where the cats can get used to people little by little and settle in.
